Embedded Controller Applications

ACI has developed a small data acquisition system (3.5 inch cube) using Embedded Controller technology. This small system includes 16-channels of A/D converters, 2-channels of D/A converters, and 16 channels of digital I/O capabilities. It also includes 16-channels of instrumentation amplifiers and anti-aliasing filters (4-pole Butterworth filters). This system is suitable for completely autonomous operation and the data is transmitted via infrared beam. It was developed for situations where data acquisition is very difficult or impossible, such as on helicopter rotors. Since the data transmission does not involve any electro-mechanical contact, e.g.a slip ring, there is no data degradation during transmission.

ACI has also been involved in customer specific hardware and software development including data acquisition systems and computer network systems. The computer platforms used for these systems include PC-based embedded controllers, desktop PC's, Macintosh series computers, UNIX based workstations, mid-range main frames and super computers.
